I did do a double take at first when I turned the page and there was the definition of a drabble, and my brain was still whirling from Aral being dead and the implications for Miles and everyone.... and then having something so familiar and close-to-home feeling as drabbles turned out to be just what I needed.

If I hadn't known Lois did fanwriting herself in her earlier days (and heck, for all we know, maybe still), I might have boggled more. But since she's been super open about all that, about the Trek stories when she was first learning to write, and heck, she even published a Holmes fic in Dreamweaver's Dilemma, nevermind essays on fanfic and whatnot, I figured the lines between what we do and what she does are already a bit blurred. Maybe more important, the lines between how we see ourselves and how she sees herself.
