I never liked Ethan of Athos very much - but I was bored with all my other books a couple of nights ago, and picked it up. Then I ended up reading it cover-to-cover. It seems that all the extra biochemistry I've learned over the past few years has filled in the science parts that were bothering me. Also, I'm aware of a different type of feminism from that I was familiar with when I was younger, and I can see all the allegories with "social duty credits" vs "women's work" rather than being automatically annoyed by the Athosians' insistence that Women Are Evil.

So with that in mind, I came to your story in love with the idea of Terrence/Ethan, in a way that I'd never felt before. And you've made their relationship make sense. I always thought that Ethan was someone for whom duty was more important than sex, so of course he'd be able to live with someone that he loved without feeling the need to pressurise him into a sexual relationship. But (even as a bisexual who can't imagine what it's like to be straight) I didn't like the idea of Terrence being magically bisexual either. The idea that what Terrence needed was to be inside the other person's head really works.
